Swimming Pools
At Resotel Baan Sanook you have the comfort of 2 different types of swimming pools for you to enjoy and cool down in.
| Directly located by the bar, lounge, guestrooms and relax-deck, you find our sanitized pool with size of 9 m x 6 m. With 3 different depth levels, easy and non-slippery steps into the water this dark blue tiled pool is a delight to swim in, sit with a drink on the plateau or just enjoy the view from over the waterfall. During the hot hours of the day, this pool is partly shaded, created by the harmonica awning above the relax-deck. The waterfall is not just decoration, but acts as skimmer removing any leaves or other items that float on the water. Furthermore, it helps to reduce the water temperature a few degrees maintaining the water to a comfortable 29~30 degrees. Soft illumination within the pool enables you to swim even when darkness falls. Sanitation of this pool is traditional, with chemicals (kept to a minimum) and the water is constantly filtered. |  |

Natural Swimming Pool
Surrounded by the garden and “beach” is our 300 m2 natural swimming pool, a for Thailand unique pool system made out of isolating concrete body, divided in 3 zones, in which the contained water creates the image of a natural lake and provide a living space for animals, plants and people. No chemicals are used to disinfect or sterilise the water; Clarifying and purifying of the water is achieved through biological filters and plants creating the incomparable feeling of swimming in natural water.
Via our “beach” you gradually enter the water via the sloping floor till a maximum depth of 1.20 m, achieved close to the wall isolating the swimming zone from the fish zone. An underwater bench allows you to sit down, enjoying a drink while overlooking the lilies, water plants and fish.

Although we created a barrier preventing fish to be in the swimming zone, it is not a guarantee that the swimming section is free of animals. The natural healthy water attracts water loving animals like frogs, crabs, shrimps etc., and also our fish sometimes jump over the barrier to take a closer look to the humans in the water. We rather not see humans jump over the barrier; fish can become stressed endangering the biological balance of the natural pool. For this same reason we use minimum lighting inside the pool; just a few LED lights in the swimming zone. A swim in our natural swimming pool is a joyful experience and we invite you to feel the freshness of swimming in healthy, chemical free and still crystal clear water. Temprerature of natural pool is typically higher due to its location in full sun. In mornings temperatures are around thirties but during midday watertemperature can be upto 35 degrees.
