Bamboo Rafting at Hong Phan Lake
When you’re in Thailand and specially Isan county, you notice that Thai people love to spend time and enjoy with family, specially during weekends and National Holidays. The gathering with family needs to be Sanook, so there must be food, drinks and some entertainment. A great way to experience the Thai lifestyle is spending a leisurely day on a raft at Nong Phan Lake, where you can swim, eat, drink and relax. It is the right mix of activities on a sunny, warm day.
About 100 rafts are available for up to 20 people to eat and swim in the middle of the lake. The rent for a smaller raft per day is 700 baht, and 1250 baht for a larger one. Life jackets are available. The rafts are towed out by small boats and anchored wherever you like. You should stock up with food and drinks beforehand, and/or take a mobile. From the rafts you can order drinks at moderate prices and Thai dishes by phone from a menu. To go ashore to visit the toilets or pick up additional passengers costs only 20 baht.
Nong Phan lake is a highly recommended destination! The cleanliness of the water, the shore areas and the organisation of the rafting trip will surprise you very positively.
The lake is approx. 70 km away from our Resotel and we strongly recommend you to combine the bamboo raft with a visit to Wat May Ban Tan and Kham Chanod in morning so you can spend all afternoon on and in the water. Ask your host of details and possibilities.
