Tham Phra waterfall

Tham Phra text

Tham Phra waterfall is one of the beautiful falls located in Phu Wua wild life sanctuary. Arriving at the car park and changing outfit, It can be reached by boat, taking about 15 minutes passing Nam Ning brook.
From the boat it is only a short walk to the falls. Steps take you up to the top where the water flows into a shallow pond beneath. From this level walk up a bit more and you find the larger waterfall with big stones and the spot to have a shower under the falling water.
Tham Phra waterfalls got several natural slides; it is said that the biggest natural slide is located here. Some slides are wild and you might injure yourself, but others can be easily done by anybody. It is just fun but often your swimming gear will not survive it.

Tham Phra waterfall is open from sunrise to sunset, and specially during weekends and national holidays a joyful gathering spot for Thai people, enjoying food, drink and swim in waterfall......Majority of waterfalls in Thailand only have water during or just after rain-season. During Nov-May period, little to none water comes down, but still the sandstone cliffs are attractive and spectacular enough to go here..........a swim however most likely not possible during the dry season (Nov till May)

Going around and in the waterfalls is relatively safe, but just be aware of hidden holes under the watersurface and know that wet surfaces can be slippery. I have not seen any really risky or dangerous parts, but as for everything in this beautiful country; this is Thailand so places do not match the safety standards as we westerns are used to. Just be careful and you be fine.

Visiting Tham Phra is possible for anybody with normal physical condition. During every visit I see complete (Thai) families going to the waterfalls and sofar all guests I brought over made it, even the ones with some physical limitations. If in doubt about your capabilities, ask your host of Resotel Baan Sanook.
In my opinion Tham Phra waterfall is accessible for anybody.

Tham Phra excursion can be perfectly combined after morning visit of Phu Tok or Phu Sing.
Ask your host for combination details.
