Wat Pa Phu Kon

This magnificent temple is located high in the mountains in Na Yung District. The temple was built only a couple of years ago but has a lot to offer those willing and able to make the steep drive to visit it.
The main attraction, besides the beautiful and serene natural surroundings, is the 20-meter long reclining Buddha, which is made from 43 blocks of exquisite Italian Carrara Marble, each weighing about 15-30 tons and which was shipped to Thailand by boat. The cost of the statue, thought to be in excess of 50 million baht (about 1.5 million US dollars) was paid for by a very generous donation from an elderly woman in honour of the King.
Due to the distance of this beautiful temple we recommend to combine a visit at Wat Pa Phu Kon with the glass bridge and the Cave Tam Din Pieng.
On the way towards Wat Pa Phu Kon your host has seen other interesting places that might be worth stopping for.
All together a trip to Wat Pa Phu Kon require a full day and return at the Resotel not before dark.
